The 4th annual ‘IBANS Research Forum’ will be held from 2:00-4:30pm on Wednesday, March 28th, in the Old Library (Main Psychology Building).
The event is intended to encourage debate, and new collaborations, amongst researchers broadly intersested in the brain and behaviour (PIs, postdocs and postgrads). Once again, at the end of the forum we will award a small grant to the best ad-hoc proposal on the day, for kick-starting a new collaborative project.
The Forum will begin with a series of brief presentations (5 minutes each, with no more than 3 slides). Each talk will be followed by 5 minutes of discussion and question time. Please email Gareth Miles (firstname.lastname@example.org) to register your interest in giving a presentation. PIs, postdocs and postgrads are all welcome to present. Presentations should focus on specific questions/problems needing to be addressed in your current research or wider field. In particular, we would like you to highlight areas in which you could benefit from new ideas or interdisciplinary collaboration.
After the talks there will be time for everyone to chat about potential collaborative projects over drinks and nibbles.
Following drinks and nibbles we will reconvene to hear 2-minute ‘pitches’ for new collaborative projects, with some time for further questions from the audience.
The Forum will be concluded with the award of seed-funding for the best idea on the day.
