Emory UG exchange

The BrainStEm Exchange:

The Universities of St Andrews and Emory have common strengths in teaching and research in neuroscience, behavioural biology and psychology. This complementarity provided the driving force for the creation in 2002 of an undergraduate exchange calledBrainStEm. In this programme, student numbers are not restricted. Emory students on the Neuroscience and Behavioural Biology (NBB) programme may visit Scotland for either one semester or a full year where they enroll and gain full credit on courses that match equivalents in the NBB programme.

Assessment:

The method of assessment at St. Andrews varies according to the module and will differ from the equivalent courses you have taken at Emory. Details of assessments for a given module can be found in the St. Andrews course catalogue. For most modules there will be a mixture of in-term continuous assessment and a final examination at the end of the module. Coursework is marked on a 20 point grading scale. After receiving a St. Andrews grade your mark will be translated onto the equivalent point on the Emory grading system. The examinations often require essay style answers. Emory students will receive instruction on essay writing during their time in St. Andrews.
