IBANS members from different schools came together for “IBANS Burns Social and Networking event” for 2023’s Burns Night. The event was organized to be an informal interdisciplinary gathering where researchers of different backgrounds and expertise were able to come together and discuss multidisciplinary work. Four representatives from schools of Psychology & Neuroscience, Physics and Astronomy, Computer Science and Economics and Finance gave presentations on the multidisciplinary application of their own research interests to kick off the discussion. The informal structure of the event as well as the Burns night themed nibbles and drinks helped keep interactions going.
IBANS plans to organize more events like this with the purpose of promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and networking opportunities and is open to suggestions for future events.
